This novel study captures data from across the United States using a multi-institutional dataset derived from electronic health record data and is the largest study to date evaluating mortality associated with fungal infections in burn injury.. Inclusion criteria identified all patients with burn injury from 2002 to 2024; IFI was defined as a diagnosis of fungal mycosis with systemic antifungal treatment which was compared to a control cohort of burn patients without mycoses or antifungal treatment. |
